Mrs. Anne Bucci is a Media Coordinator and Media Department Chair at Butler High School. She also serves as the school webmaster, tech contact, Apple and Google Administrator and inventory coordinator. Mrs. Bucci earned her Bachelor's Degree in English from Clemson University and her Master of Library and Information Science degree from the University of South Carolina. She has more than 22 years of experience as a media coordinator in all levels, elementary, middle, and high school.
Mrs. Bucci began her career in CMS at McClintock Middle and Cotswold Elementary before joining the staff of Butler High School when the school opened in 1997. Mrs. Bucci has achieved National Board Certification in Library Media Early Childhood through Young Adult. In November 2009 she presented at the American Association of School Librarians national conference on the topic of paperless research. Mrs. Bucci taught paperless research to teachers at the 2010 CMS Summer Teacher Conference. She recently formed a school-wide Media and Technology Advisory Committee and served on the CMS Big6 Leadership Team. During the 2010-11 school year, she offered a CMS Parent University Course - Using Technology for Research. She was a presenter at the 2011 Summer Instructional Technology Conference on the topic of Blogs, Podcasts, Wikis & More - Making Sense of Web 2.0 Tools. She served on the 2012-13 NC Validation Study (pilot) and has created a 21st Century Learning PLC for teachers at her school. In 2014 Mrs. Bucci was selected as a member of the North Carolina Digital Leaders Coaching Network, a part of the Friday Institute at North Carolina State University. In 2015 she was named a mentor in this group of digital leaders. In November 2014 Butler students, under the guidance of Mrs. Bucci, created a video submission for the Belk Bowl Innovation Lab Contest and won an award of $75,000 for remodeling the Butler Media Center. She is a certified Microsoft Innovative Educator and teaches a course entitled Help Desk where students are trained in troubleshooting tips to assist teachers and students with integrating and embedding technology. She is a member of several library organizations including, North Carolina School Library Media Association and North Carolina Technology in Education Society.
Mrs. Bucci enjoys spending time with her family which includes her husband Steve, two children (a CMS 11th grader and a 9th grader), and one cat and two dogs. Her hobbies include reading crime fiction (both in print and on her Kindle), Pinterest, cooking, geeking out with tech tools, and driving her children to various activities.
